As part of our calling to servanthood we administer the South Fork Community Potluck which is held monthly from September through May. This monthly meal is a time for all of the local friends and neighbors to get out, check on each other and visit each other during the winter months. We participate annually in the South Fork town clean-up keeping the environment that God has provided for us to live in clean. Our town and area are a resort and vacation location so one of our primary efforts is to offer a place to worship as people travel through the area. Last summer we were able to host a youth group traveling to this area as they went to work on a habitat for humanity house. One of our goals for the future is to offer these type of ministries and also to offer a place for spiritual retreats and refreshment. Our congregation is responding to the challenge of living every day of the week as "missionaries" in the mission fields of home, work, community, wider world, leisure, and church and then coming back to church on Sundays to be refreshed to go back out into the world. |
